DownloadRobert Galinsky (aka “Galinsky”) is an actor, writer, director and he debuted his one-person play (as both playwright and actor) "The Bench, A Homeless Love Story" Off Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre (directed by Drama Desk and Obie Award winner Jay O. Sanders, produced by Tony Award winning Producer Terry Schnuck.) It played 10 sold out weeks at Cherry Lane, extended for another 30 weeks at East Village Playhouse and then moved to Hollywood at the Hudson Guild Theater for another 15 week sold out run. His latest TED Talk (performance) went live recently, see it here and his performance of his iconic Lower East Side poem “East Village Hip” was featured at the 2022 Whitney Biennial. Galinsky most recently wrote and directed six short plays that included a cast of award winning and notable actors: Laura San Giacomo, Roger Guenveur Smith, Gary Cole, and Shola Adewusi (“Based On a True Story”) and he runs a critically acclaimed live poetry night, “Poetry in New York” the third Thursday of each month, at Book Club Bar in Alphabet City NY. His first book of poetry and plays, “Scribbling on Spaghetti” is out now and available on Amazon. He is founder of Galinsky Coaching and runs writing and performing workshops with teenagers in Rikers Island Jail and jails and prisons throughout NY State through Literacy for Incarcerated Teens and the Kite Zine and is the Community Outreach Coordinator at the Main Event Gallery. His newest solos show, “Everything in New York Goes BANG!”, is currently in development and will premiere fall 2022.
